2013/2014

The number of foreign students in Polish higher schools has been increasing. In the 2013/2014 academic year their number amounted to 36.0 thousand, i.e. 2.3% of all students.

The most numerous were students from Europe - 29.2 thous. persons in total, majority of whom came from Ukraine, Belarus.
In 2013 there were 669.1 thousand students learning modem foreign languages in obligatory courses (i.e. 44.2% of all students - excluding foreigners). Their number fell by 7.0% in comparison with the previous year.

92.6% of students learning foreign languages attended only one foreign language course. Students learning one foreign language accounted for 40.9% of the students' population. Much smaller percentage of students learned two foreign languages (3.2%) or more (0.1% of students were taught three or more languages within their course of studies).

The number of graduates in the 2012/2013 academic year amounted to 455.2 thous. and was lower by nearly 30.0 thous. (i.e. by 6.2%) in comparison with the 2011/2012 academic year.
